MEDIATION: WHAT IS IT?
Mediation is a process by which participants use a third party to assist with communication (defining and clarifying issues), considering alternatives, and exploring options to voluntarily reach decisions that accommodate the needs of both parties. Emphasis is on the participants' responsibilities for the decisions that will affect their lives.
